So I’m not sure why especially but have protein energy balls always been around and I’ve just never noticed them until this year?

I feel the same about a lot of foods (see my last post) but energy balls are so great for when you need a treat. While shopping around for some you’ve got some great brands out there that do a great protein ball (Bounce, Deliciously Ella etc) but when I see the price tag…. £2 per ball!!!!! HELLS NOOO! I’m all about health, but I’m all about sustainable living too and at those prices I'll become homeless in a matter of 2 months if I brought energy balls at that waaayyyy unaffordable price.
Life Hack… If you cant beat them, JOIN THEM! So I decided to make my own. Will they taste as nice? Do you really need to ask, OF COURSE THEY WILL! The price of all the ingredients makes it that you can make at least 12 per ‘making session’ and have more than enough to make at least another 3 batches after that (depending how much nut butter you have, I have a kilo (insert monkey face) totally not ashamed about that. There really much to make with these balls- as I often promote within my recipes you can add or take away ingredients you like/dislike to fit your personal preferences. I love that fact you can make a lot from one batch making- it means that when I fancy something sweet and easy BOOM these bliss balls are in the bag (I wanted that to be a mega alliteration, did it work?)
So here is the recipe- Simply Martha’s Protein Energy Bliss Balls
1 cup of rolled oats
Protein Powder- 2 or 3 scoops
Cinnamon- 1tsp or 3-4 shakes
Choice of nut butter 2-3 tbsp
Superfood Greens Powder (optional)- ½ tsp
Water- 50ml
Chia Seeds- 1 tsp

1) I add the oats, cinnamon, super greens and protein powder and give it a mix so its all combined.

2) I then add the nut butter, give it a really good stir, till well combined. add a little bit of water to make it a little more wet to combine it till the mixture is stiff, sticky and doughy.
3) now add the Chia seeds and sprinkle this all over the mixture and again combine this evenly throughout the mixture.
4) now the mixture should be ready to roll into a ball shape. (depends how big/small you want them will differ in numbers)

5) Now they will be ready to place in tub and store in the freezer for 2-3 hours, then you can either leave in the freezer for up to MONTHS or if you are greedy, like moi, and will eat them within the week store them in the fridge for a week.

AND YOU'VE JUST MADE SOME BANGIN' BLISS BALLS!
